FamFacial recognition software is still is its infancy, since movement, lighting, and facial expression all interfere with a computer’s ability to recognize a face. But researchers at Carnegie Mellon University are working on software that creates 3-D face meshes that adjust to fit the subject and identify them, even if their face is partially obscured or on the move.

Unfortunately, this means it just got harder to ditch your robot ex-girlfriend.
