Facial recognition software is still is its infancy, since movement, lighting, and facial expression all interfere with a computer’s ability to recognize a face. But researchers at Carnegie Mellon University are working on software that creates 3-D face meshes that adjust to fit the subject and identify them, even if their face is partially obscured or on the move.
